The album is good if you listen to it from another view. As dissapointed as I am, hoping for a heavier album, the album itself isn't bad. Give it time. I just wish this album was made by another band, and not Millencolin.

i agree with you... i expected it sounded like Home from home , its a shame... its too pop, vicious circle and whos laughing now are the best songs for me... without mention brand new game, the others i dont like it... maybe i have to listen it more... i wish it sounded like Farewell my hell , that toughness and great lyrics... maybe they did it without enough enthusiasm, now im dissapointed, but i will keep being a millencolin fan, maybe they come back to their original sounds someday...

Hey guys!! How have you been doing? So many things changed since the last time but there is one thing unchanged it's our neverending love for M*C that hold us tight together. The knittight family (or viceversa) So coming back in force with Karro's viewpoint on Le Machine 15! all spotlights Just like Nikola starts with: " No, I never thought I invented the wheel" in Machine 15...which best resumes all of it. I wasn't sure when I first heard of Brand New Game and Detox but in the end my ears were just satisfied and there is some tresures that we no need to dig in it. I'm loving it once again What I care first in a song it's the general emotion vehiculed and if the lyrics are fitting it. And they've always been very good at doing it. Machine 15 - What's up with you guys? I am the only one that see the meaning in that song and the good beat. Did you really take your precious time to listen to this last effort carefully? This song is a kind of parallele to For Monkeys's puzzle song. He all says it in that song. They are introducing this full lenght and the idea of it. No this song doesn't fit anywhere else as long as they wouldn't change the lyrics to it. " Drop the gun the one that is stuck to my head" Its about all the accusations that people makes on them and their musical path. They feel attacked sometime. Machine 15 obviously alludes to Millencolin. they are the Machine 15. they just started in 1992 and when they recorded this song they just turned 15 as a group. And I'm sure there is no coincidences that there is 15 songs on this album and no it's not too long when you planned (mean) it. Did anyone hear of "Machine gun" by the Damned? Done is Done- heavy song. There is an emotional charge in that song for some reason and of course I'm digging the lyrics with all those sort of "living in the now" referrences. The violins solo part made me feel anxious for some reason. Intense. Detox - haha this song is funny (lyrics and video) really melodic but way too poppy and quite the Millencolin dudes denaturated. I like the lyrics, it reminds me of my 2 musketeers at my job (Jonathan and Oliver) and the Locker 052.. As I used to tell them : "Just split or stop boozing man" and Jonathan always laughes (he is a guitar player too). by the way, the new CD made me took more breaks in a day of work in my entire career as a "cutting edge devices" seller. I was going on break yesterday just so I can listen to part of the new album. My co-workers were suspecting something. They thought I was going to abuse of booze. Close but no cigar haha Vicious circle - ah vicious circles I like saying so. Everyone mirroiring each other.. Putting the blame on an outside cause instead of looking within. Taking back sunday kinda for the intro I do agree on that Broken World - The Epic song of Millencolin? It's all over giving me a weird feeling. Reffering to shakespeare, mammoths and the 27 000 years stuff (which is strangely the time that the axe of the Earth inclination takes to rotate on itself like a cone (precession of equinox ) " And I wonder what's hidden behind the hills(...) I'm about to discover a new land" there is a weird old man who's sayin' " I'm the decider, you've gotta stay that course" That's how Nikola is painting God haha Thumbs up for the lyrics, man Come on- Okay, this is MY song and if someone has to say something more about how its bad I'm doing to slap them all the way to their face so shut up man! . NO kidding, this song made me feel good immediately, smilling and willing to dance. That is the cuttest song ever written by them even if MCS (Motion City Soundtrack) sweats all the way through it. MC..au plurial haha no wonders! Centerpiece - Well some idea in. It feels like deja vu. From where? I can't put my finger on Who's Laughing Now? Like we say in French "Chapeau!" (hat) very good song over all. My bet would be that Niko is speaking about himself in that song. Brand New Game - I really found this song boring at first, nothing really new and with a Jimmy Eat Word edge. But risking to repeat myself over again, the lyrics statements from the older tunes is brillant Turnkey Paradise - I'm not fond of the melody but I find the lyrics quite funny about real estate. It remind me of the conversation I had with Nikola about real estate market in Sweden and the joyce of subburban homes, family and neighborhood. Ducks&Drake - No comments beside "worst song of their entire carreer" mention Route One - This is my favorite song from the album. This is just atuned with what I like as a song all the way. And the looooooong syllabes is just to add darkness to the melody..boooooooooh you disclaimers. Danger for stranger - " You sound just like a broken record when you verbilize" That was strong and very well said haha it's a bit like "Let me in" idea and some other songs like he criticizes poeple he cannot get along. Saved by hell - This song is a tight with Route One. This song is beautiful. Woow. What's wrong with you guys? Is that I soften and I'm getting older? My safer guess would be it's another song related to his brother. Lyrics are beautiful and touching. " It didn't kill me then it would not kill me now" What doesn't kill you make you stronger. I don't think that much of this song as a solo piece but hell I wouldn't complain since Roll Roll and Flee is my favorite album of all time. Karro is getting all old and soft, loving. " No it’d raher kill me to be doing well" Doing well is the kind of end for the evolution as human. That is why we are so afraid of it. we don't want the journey to end. End Piece - Cool. it felt like it's the end of the machine. good for the car cimetary haha Overall, I find the number 2 quite present behind the scene. The balanced pair of Paradise and hell. There is 2 song Motion City Soundtrack like (Vicious circle and Come on). 2 songs with the theme of stranger (Route One and Danger for Stranger) and strangely having the same intro beat.. 2 songs mentioning Route (Route one and Who's Laughing Now?) . 2 songs with strings (if we don't count ducks&drake as one haha). 2 songs referring to the past (Brand New Game and Done Is Done). The secret behind number 2 is the magic of the cosmic balance. I'm sure it wasn't mean though I'm just overdigging it in hope of find gold as usual. The Kill word happens to come back a few times all over too. To conclude, my bet would be that Mathias wrote the lyrics for Done Is Done and Route One at least and I just can't wait for the booklet because it's not tomorrow that Nikola will enounciate enough for my lazy ears. Cheer up!!! ;D /lovekarro

You know what, I just had a thought. I know we all love Millencolin for all their great music, and that is kinda my point here. If you hope for another Pennybridge Pioneers or another Home From Home, you will get dissapointed, at first. Because with Millencolin you'll never know what you get. But still, the music is always great! If you want them to go back to Same Old Tunes and not letting them explore their music (they will anyway), then use your time on something else. I know many people doesn't like that the new album is so different and pop, but different is what we'll always get from Millencolin. Actually, at first I didn't like Home From Home either, because it wasn't the punkrock Millencolin. But now I fucking love that album, and that's why I will always respect their choise of path. Because the music is always AWESOME

Hello there! Just wanted to say that I really like this album. But then again, my favourite Millencolin songs have often been the poppy ones like Puzzle, Otis, Fingers Crossed, Duckpond etc. But my absolute favourite songs have all been the more emotional, emo kind of songs like Happiness For Dogs, A-Ten, Stalemate etc. So I guess this album is kinda perfect in sound for me. Anyway here comes my song by song review. 1. Machine 15 Like someone already said before, this is a statement of the status of our favourite band, and it's short with much energy and it has a very catchy phrase in the chorus (the gun against my head one). It surely stucks in my head, Nikola sounds a little bit angry to me. 2. Done Is Done The violin takes time to get used to, sounds a bit like a Swedish punkband called Dia Psalma that mix folk-music with melodic punk. The melody is emotional and the breakdown before the last chorus is beautiful. 3. Detox My least favourite song on the album, a funny throw away song like that Nikola probably could write in his sleep. Reminds me of songs like Botanic Mistress, Fox and Fuel to the Flame, none of which are favourites of mine. 4. Vicious Circle Wow! Amazing song, Nikola just tears his heart out in this song and still it's the catchiest thing on the album. The lyrics are Nikola at his best. It's poppy and emotional, I love it! 5. Broken World Haven't really gotten into this song yet, but maybe time will tell if I like or love this song. 6. Come On I don't have any problem with slower songs, at least not when they have such a catchy chorus like this one. It makes me happy and gives me motivation, great song. 7. Centerpiece Not much to say about this, is there? 8. Who's Laughing Now What it lacks in melody it regains in it's energy and Nikola's vocals, he sounds angry again, in a good kind of way. Great lyrics. 9. Brand New Game Too bad, I've already loved this song to death. But it's still a greats song with much emotion in the chorus. And the old songs references makes you nostalgic 10. Turnkey Paradise Great great song, very poppy but the lyrics give it a bit of edge. Should be a single, has a great song melody and a smooth guitar sound. The song and melody makes me very happy and I feel like rocking out at a good concert or throwing a party! 11. Ducks&Drakes A very serious and emotional song, that you must give time to make it grow on you. It doesn't blow me away yet, but it has something and I can't understand all the hate for it in here. 12. Route One Yeah, cool song! The second half of this album is better than the first. Those of you that complain about the lack of good melodies, well this chorus just can't help but stick in your head. Once again a good vocal from Nikola, the way he phrases the words are refreshing and it sounds great. 13. Another great poppy song that sounds totally like Millencolin, at least for me. 14. Saved By Hell Great song to end the album (not as great as Hard Times though). The chorus reminds me of something else, I just can't tell what it is. Anyway it doesn't make the song less good. Once again Nikola almost tears his heart out and at least he touches me with his heartfelt lyrics. The solo is just sick! 15. End Piece A good outro for Saved By Hell and the whole album. Peace out friends!

Machine 15: i like the song o.k. the lyrics explain the album and the whole shift in sound.. this song would be better in my opinion if they didnt use such a "clean" guitar sound, maybe something with a little more punch like the HFH album distortion.
Done Is Done: one of my favorite songs on the album, violins sound cool and add sort of an arabian feel to it. not quite sure how they are going to pull this off live though, if they even play it live...
Detox: when i first heard it i thought it sounded like millencolin was trying a little too hard to get on mtv and be the next big thing. after listening to it more i actually like it, kinda funny song, maybe a guilty pleasure.
Vicious Circle: nikola should have saved it for his solo album, doesnt really fit, gets really long and boring.
Broken World: cool little pop song, i like the riff. once again, guitars are too clean and take away from the power the song could have had.
Come On: im kind of embarassed for the guys, this is a complete rip off of that motion city soundtrack song. same chord progression and vocal patterns. im sure they didnt mean to, its just strange nikola says "creativity is my gasoline" in the song machine 15 and then this is basically a cover song with different lyrics.
Centerpiece: ace freehly, not as random
Brand New Game: cool lyrics, cool song, solid.
Who's Laughing Now: the only real classic millencolin sounding song on the whole cd, i like it, but again the guitars are too clean and dont carry as much bite i guess.
Ducks and Drakes: I actually like the verses and everything, but the chorus sounds wierd when larzon isnt using the snare at all. songs ok, not as bad as everyone keeps saying.
Turnkey Paradise: I like this song, poppy but still a good song with a catchy chorus, seems like something you might hear off of pennybridge, but with a clean channel guitar. the riff is strange and is the only part i dont like.
Route One: the first time i heard it the vocals bothered me, but the more i have heard it the more i like it. again, the chorus is catchy.
Danger For Stranger: Like turnkey paradise, i like the song, sounds like something on the ladder half of pennybridge, poppy, fun, but something i cant see them playing live.
Saved By Hell: this is my favorite some on the album. it sounds like it should have been on nikola's solo album (which i like also) but for some reason its dark and really really good. cant really see them playing it live to much approval, but really good no doubt.
End Piece: fucking noise
...overall, i like the album, by far the slowest and poppiest, but thats fine. i like a lot of songs, but my trouble is that i cant find one song i would put in my top 10 MC songs of all time (which up to now contain at least one song from each album). It sounds like nikola sarcevic meets franky lee, which i guess makes sense, but i was hopping they would be able to destinguish the two... like others said, i like the album a lot, but i feel like i have heard it many times before, something i cant say about other MC records, even though this one is the "furthest" from anything they have done. maybe the songs will sound more full when they play them live with more punch behind the bare guitar sound.

Pat, I agree with you about "com'on"...i thought i was listening to a MCS song..of course they didnt mean to sound like them but it's undeniable it sounds like something from even if it kills me
