For the interest of all you computer geeks, I have brought to you the topic of Microsoft.
Here's my rant:
I cannot stand Microsoft. I'm so sick of the virus threats. When you have Microsoft it's nearly impossible to not get a virus. My boyfriend has drilled into my head that Linux is the way to go. I think he's totally right on that.
Microsoft is heavily flawed and for those anti corporate people out there, Microsoft is one of the ultimate corporations that you would soon love to hate.
"Why am I getting so many viruses? Why do I have to constantly reformat my computer once I do? What's wrong with Microsoft?" You may ask yourself. First of all, the reason why there are so many virus attacks for Microsoft is because hackers are paid to do that. Why? Because Microsoft (here I'm going to sound sci fi) is trying to take over the world. Those hackers have to make viruses to make Microsoft go down. It's a way of saying "F you" to them.
Now I'm going to sound like a total Linux advertisement...
-The good thing about Linux is that you don't have to pay. It's FREE FREE FREE. Microsoft isn't. Notice that you go to the computer store and they already installed it and notice you have to pay an extra fee and such?
-Linux isn't owned by anyone. They don't have plans to take over the world unlike Microsoft. Whereas Microsoft is owned by an asshole who has made many attempts at suing Linux and failing at it. Linux doesn't have anything for anyone to sue them. Linux is simply a threat to Microsoft because they're taking business away from them. Microsoft knows damn well that Linux is a lot better than they are but they just can't admit it.
-Linux doesn't have thousands of viruses. Sure they have a few but not as many as Microsoft. Linux's goal isn't to make everything look pretty for the user. Microsoft seems to care more about making their products look pretty rather than figuring out different ways they can prevent future virus attacks.
-With Linux you don't have to reformat your entire computer when you get a virus. You can simply go into your system, go into the specific infected part and remove the virus. With Microsoft, the virus affects your entire system thus the reformatting.
-Another thing about viruses, you don't have to get anti virus software when you have Linux.
Just imagine if you installed Linux from the day you got your computer. You would save a pretty hefty amount of money.
There's a lot more to say about Linux but I listed down the basics. (I think) I'm no computer geek but I consider myself to be intermediately knowledgeable on the subject of computers.
