"Who is this man?" You may ask. His name is Tenzin Delek Rinpoche. He is a Buddhist leader who helped preserve the Buddhist culture. Unfortunately, he was accused and framed for crimes he did not commit. In addition to that the Chinese government viewed him as a threat to their plans to destroy Tibet, its culture and its people. They threw him in jail without a fair trial. He is to be executed on December 2 of this year. It is up to us to help save him. I have already written to the Chinese government. That is not where I will stop. I plan to photocopy fliers and post them everywhere around Montreal--even in my car, on my house, EVERYWHERE I can think of. I will table at shows, schools, whereever it is needed. I will distribute fliers and plan to hand them out at the Buddhist music festival and the screenings of "What remains of us" (a movie about Tibet). I would also like to plan a protest. I have to find out how much it costs to place a full page ad about that. I will also start up a petition. This an urgent matter but let's not forget that if Tenzin Delek Rinpoche is saved, we still have to continue fighting for Tibet. Whether it's simply adding your signature to a petition or joining a protest, every little bit counts. TIME IS RUNNING OUT. Here are some sites to check out: www.freetibet.orgwww.savetenzin.orgwww.studentsforafreetibet.orgIf any of the links do not work, please tell me.

I feel too weak to continue fighting for him. I haven't given up though. I'm constantly hoping and praying that he will be released out of prison. Any time from now until January 26, 2005 he can be executed.
There are chapters of Students For A Free Tibet all over the world. I will list them here as soon as possible. You don't even have to be a student to join, by the way.
Be sure to watch some documentaries about Tibet. I saw a documentary recently and the situation is so bad in Tibet to the point where no one in the theater was allowed to bring any type of camera in. The documentary will never be released on VHS or DVD or even air on TV. The reason for this was because the Tibetans who were being interviewed in the documentary can be imprisoned or killed for even speaking out about the situation.

I just got an email from Students For a Free Tibet and here's what it says:
Dear Chastity,
Today, January 14th, Tibet Support Groups around the world are organizing one last day of solidarity action for Tenzin Delek Rinpoche before January 26th. This day of action has been called for and is being coordinated by European Tibet Support Groups, and we are asking you to join in by taking action today in a familiar way - phoning the Chinese government!
Then it talks about how Tenzin Delek Rinpoche has been abiding by the prison's rules which could mean his death sentence may be removed but that he might stay in prison for life for life. His trial takes place January 26th. The goal here is to obviously get him out of prison.
Read what the rest of the email says:
Nonetheless, until we know for sure that the execution will not happen, it is very important that we keep up the pressure on the Chinese government. Even if Tenzin Delek's sentence is changed, we must continue to do everything we can to secure this innocent man's release. Please take action today by following the steps below! This is a critical time, and every call will make a difference.
Please call one of the following numbers in London, Stockholm, or New York, or if you have time, call all three. Please say, "I am calling to ask the Ambassador to urge the Chinese government not to execute Tibetan Buddhist leader Tenzin Delek Rinpoche. He is innocent and China should release him from prison immediately. Thank you." All the numbers connected to answering machines after work hours when we tried them, so if you don't reach a person, please leave a message.
Chinese embassy in London, UK: +44-20-7299-4021 (Administrative Office) or +44-20-7299-4037 (Political Office) (Ambassador: Zha Peixin)
Chinese embassy in Stockholm, Sweden: +46-8-57936404 (Protocal Affairs Office) (Ambassador: Lv Fengding)
Chinese Mission to the United Nations (New York, USA): +1-212-655-6191 (Secretariat), +1-212-655-6109 (Administrative Office), or +1-212-655-6143 (Political Office) (Ambassador: Wang Guangya)
Thanks for taking part in this and for all of the energy and commitment you have given to the campaign to save Tenzin Delek. We are very close to achieving our first goal.

There are other Tibetan political prisoners that need to be released. The Panchen Lama is one of them. He's 15 or 16 years old now but he has been in prison since the age of 6. The Chinese government kidnapped him, threw him in jail and the kid hasn't been out since.

Man, I love Tibetains so much. They are the most intense persons I encountered ever. I remembered 4 of them went to my college and I never felt so strong people in my life. The energy they vibe is nothing compared to normal people. This might affraid poeple who doesnt understain human truths. I guess that is why Chinese see them as a menace.
