What makes a show amazing for you guys? Is it how the band plays? Is it the band-fan interactions (i.e. the band asking fans to get up on stage and sing and dance)? Is it how the fans react to the music? Is it the music itself? The venue? The general atmosphere?

hmm... i'd say it has to do a lot with audience response and sound. i've delt with crappy venues, but if the band is playing the shit out of the songs and the crowd is having an overall good time (whether there be moshing or not) is what makes a show amazing. i have to say, MC was like that (except for the whole rufio thing).

- First of all: Awesome music makes an awesome show!
- then it's how well i know the songs
- then it is how the band acts on stage. If they're assholes, I don't like them too much. But if they're cool, it's good.
- Then it's how the audience acts.
- the sound of the amps and things should be good too. It should not be crappy amps.
- Of course, i need ear plugs to enjoy loud music.

1. Music. 2. How much the crowd is into it. 3. How much an effort the bands gives. #2 and #3 feed off eachother. 4. How well I know the songs and the sound. 5. Depends on how bad I wanna get up there and play a guitarsolos.

Depends on the love I got for the band at first and the quality of the gig they give back. Its really cool when they give all they have and you feel their happiness of doing the show. I love it more when the sounds is representative of the cd music. I love improvements also but it sucks when you can't reconize the songs they are playing.. Its also good when the band interact with the crowd and stuff.

I think the main factor for an amazing show is the band ! If they talk to the crowd, they make the crowd sing !
and the second factor is the crowd, if people know the band it's ok, but when people don't sing, or jump. it makes the show boring !
that's my definition

I think its stage presence... i like going to shows and seeing bands moving alot on stage. It keeps my attention and it seems like the band is more into it. I wouldnt want to go to a show if the band just stands there.... i'd have to be stoned or something to enjoy it for however long the show is haha. Most of the bands i'm into have stage presence... so yeah i think thats a big factor.

In my opinion, stage presence isnt synomymous of movements.

In my opinion, stage presence isnt synomymous of movements. Me neither. An artist can have authority and good presence on the stage without moving around much. It's more about how you move, and even more importantly, what you do when you're not moving your feet.

So watching a good punk rock band just standing there would be fun to watch? I think it would be a bit boring

If you can't have good stage presence while standing still, you ain't got much of a stage presence at all.
Are we necessarily discussing punkrock bands by the way?
