A sequel taken into the Punk Rawk interview (translated):
SAME OLD TUNES (1994)
Mathias : this album was very easy to carry out. There was no pressure, no expectations from the public. All we did was to rehearse, to play and to write songs. Everything was more simple. Nikola was living in Örebro like us. We rehearsed four times a week. There is still songs that I like on this record as well, but it's really the work of the band without any experience.
LIFE ON A PLATE (1995)
Larzon: We were a young band. We were touring none-stop. The only breaks served to record. It was so we imagined the life as a band. This formule worked for the first albums. Then, the rythm was way too maintained. We were fighting all the time between us.
Mathias: This album permitted us to be known in Europe. The ska songs worked as well. We were making ska because our references did like Operation Ivy or NoFX. With time, I think we were not good at doing ska. We come from Sweden. It's not as if we were californians. We don't have groove such Rancid.
FOR MONKEYS (1997)
Mathias: this record was a hard period for us. We had recorded almost one album a year with touring without any cease. In December 1996, we entered in studio. At this time, we didn't have songs enough. This album was botched.
Larzon: Your inspiration dries up if your doing the same thing all the time. We were on tour without any cease. We didn't have the time to get a different perspective of life.
Mathias: In my opinion, For Monkey is our less good record. Peculiarly, certain people still like it a lot. In USA, it remains popular.
PENNYBRIDGE PIONEERS(2000)
Mathias: It took us a lot of time before we got back in the studio. Millencolin almost splitted. When For Monkey came out, we start again with a marathon tour. At the end, Nikola wished to go back to school. But his will of writting came back to him. Pennybridge was like a second start. Our sound was developped a lot onto. We gave up with the ska tentatives to concentrate on rock.
Larzon: At the same time, Mister Brett proposed us to record with him. It was an unexpected opportunity. We were fans of Bad Religion even before Millencolin was formed. Brett Gurewitz is one of the main reason that pushed us to start a punk band. To have him by our sides was surrealistic.
Mathias: Pennybridge Pioneers contains in my opinion some very good songs, and also some more neglected. But as a whole, it's a good album.
Larzon: The producers don't really touch our music. It's above all the sound they work on. We come in the studio with our songs finished.
HOME FROM HOME (2002)
Mathias: this record premitted us to work with Lou Giordano. We wanted it since we listened to Clumsy by Samiam first. We recorded in Stockholm with him. Home From Home has a more emo, rock n'roll direction.
Larzon: Everytime we get out the studio, we have the impression we recorded our best album. We are pround of every albums. Even though, with time, some songs tickle our fancies less. Yet, I would tend to say that on Kingwood, every are quality songs. In my opinion, it's the most succesful.
