As Androdaking, this song totally rocks!
Hearing a clip of "Birdie" recovered me 3 days faster. You have no idea how happy I am! I haven't been this happy since coming out of the hospital. I have developed a heavy infatuation with the song and haven't stopped playing it in the past hour.
I'm impressed and I can't wait for the album to come out!

After listening to it again and again and again and again (and a couple other times after), here comes my first analysis of the song:
The title: I guess that "Birdie" is an evident reference to golf vocabulary. A birdie is when you complete a golf hole in one shot less than the par, so it means a good shot. Since the song sounds positive (that's a really good thing), the birdie could mean that the message of the song will help the concerned person to reach his goals fast.
It could also be a reference to the expression "Free as a bird" since the song seems mostly about freedom to do what we want to. The bird reference could also refer to a return to the roots for MC (the yellowbird).
The guitars: I think that this is one of the songs featuring The Peepshows' guitarist. The sound of the guitar in the "solo" sounds a lot like the one on the Peepshows' songs.

There was a puppet named Birdie and other puppets inolved (really can't remember their names) explaining things all sex and anatomy to us. It also doesn't help that as a result of these lessons, my neighbor (same age as me) decided to name his genitalia after Birdie. "My birdie [this], my birdie [that]" are words that often came out of his mouth. We were 5 years old. And you wonder why I turned out the way I am...
