You know hate is just a reflect of love. I dont think you should waste this among of energy in a band you shouldnt care about. That is you egos that are speaking. Its not you that will open for them its Millencolin and I think they are old enough to make decisions for what they want to do and I dont think they are forced. I got nothing agaisnt GC. I got a dear friend who is worshiping them and talk about Benji. She knows as much as about them than I know about mc and she is listening to them for 5 years long. On my opinion, they are better than Simple Plan, I mean on the sell out thing. I have so much respect for Millencolin that I dont thing my view on them will change if they keep acting like they ever did even if they opening for GC. Im just afraid of the average of fans respounce where my last dream comes related.

well, i don't think apathy benifits anyone either (and trust me, contempt for bands and people like GC is not a reflection of love... not even a guilty pleasure and i'm sure it doesn't extend from my ego). i'm a person that isn't satisfied with saying, "well, i'm just going to ignore it" when it's something i feel passionatly about. good charlotte annoys and even frustrates me because of the fact that they present themselves as something that they're really not. i'm sorry, but when you dress up in "hardcore" attire and sing about girls only liking cars and money, there's a problem with that. no wonder people don't take music seriously anymore.
i also understand that the MC members are free to do whatever they want. i'm not telling them what they can and can't do and really i don't think they should care about what i say. if anything, i owe them for everything that they've done. i'm just expressing my opinion in a place where i'm free to do so; and i don't think any opinion, whether it be laced with contempt or appreciation, should be withheld.

I think it's 'kin sad. What's funny is that for a band in their genre, Millencolin sound pretty heavy live, so they'll blow GC's pussy-ass poprock out of the water, sonically speaking. But I don't get why they don't do their own headlining tour. From what I understood, Home From Home sold well. Videos on MTV, went into #2 in the Aussie charts, did well at home as well. Weird. Maybe it's just for publicity...I dunno, but it sucks.

I ment ego in a way of MIllencolin not GC. Millencolin is your favorite band and you feel related to them so when they do something your not happy with then its will shock you like it would be a part of you. You shouldnt attach that much importance to something you dont do yourself. Sure you cant disagree but you dont have to be hurted personally and waste that much energy on hating GC. Your not doing something to GC, the person you affect with those feelings its you first. Try to let it go, its not yours. About GC lyrics, I think they are much about God and how life is mean and the humankind suffering (In a low level of expressing it with words) in their new album more than anything else.I dont try to defend their point but I dont think its something to care that much about. Rancid have much respect for them and such and its Erik favorite band. Its probably where they got something in common. The Eploxion make the first part and they are rock n roll with keyboard so nothing related to Millencolin and less yet to GC. Its just music business.

it's not an ego thing, and it can never be. the fact that they're my favorite band doesn't mean it's a source of personal pride. i don't think less of them because of this, it's just that i can't stand bands like GC and their legions of vapid, unimformed lemings, or "fans". and because you're apathetic about this doesn't mean i'll learn how to or ever will be.
about their lyrical content, it's cheap and an obvious attempt to try and cash in on the whole, "ohh, some animal died so now i'm sad" emo sector. they react to shifts and changes in the main stream market. and like i said before, they just pervert the whole music scene. i don't understand how anyone could support a band that's completly market driven (and their endorsment by rancid means nothing to me).

I'm not telling you to shut up but I think that it's threads like these that make the members of the band to not come to this board. But I'm not sure.

I'm not telling you to shut up but I think that it's threads like these that make the members of the band to not come to this board. i highly doubt that. besides, we're not criticizing them. they don't also respond to the threads where we praise them, so i'm inclined to believe that it's because they haven't got the time.

Yeah, we're not saying "Oh my God Millencolin are sellouts! How can they tour with Good Charlotte? I completely lost respect for them!" I'm grateful I'm not a UK Millencolin fan and I'm happy that it's only one tour with GC.
I will justify this bitchiness with the constant threats and emotional abuse I've been getting from health care workers for the past few weeks. However, a situation such as this is plain shocking.
If I were a UK fan I would be pissed because I'm sure the tickets are much more expensive than if Millencolin were touring with a lesser known band. Plus it's damn insulting to Millencolin and their fans--especially if they're opening. They are supposed to be one of the legendary punk bands. They're the veterans, not GC. GC should've at least opened for them.

yeah, larzon is a member in here. Larzon seems to be the PR Dude in the band. I nearly crapped my pants when he replied to my email a long time ago. ;D
