Frankly Guillaume, you really got chances. That was really not my case or it's just because I don't know to take my chance when the opportunity is there..
The day started very early when I was supposed to meet Chast at the metro. Chast needed to be at the hippodrome at 10 to pick up her backstage bracelet. Unfortunately, I've been at the appointment late so she left the place before I came. So I've been forced to wait for long hours alone hanging around and killing time by myself. I waited 1 hour in the line up, inside I tried to find Chast so I went straight to the backstage doors but she were no where to be found. After a couple of minutes, I finally gave up on my hopes of finding her there so I decided to light up a cigarette to kill time. It's when I saw Magnus with Paul Chavez getting out the backstage. I just couldn't go to them asking if I could meet M*C so I didnt, out of embarrassement. It was 12:00.
12:00 was when my friends were supposed to call me on my cell phone to meet up. So I checked and I got a message from Chast telling me she was waiting for me at the Big D's merch table. I walked around for one hour not being able to find this damn merch table. BUt I knew Chast would be there for their set so I finally found her there. After the set, we have been escorted in the backstage by Big D where we passed by the side of Zok. Yeah, once again, I was too shy to go to him to ask if I could get to meet M*C so i lose once again another chance..Obviously, M*C where no where around in the backstage.
So we got out of there for the Bedouin Soundclash set. As we were going to see the Millencolin's set, it's when I finally saw Mathias and Nikola getting out the backstage with a tall unknown guy. Mathias was all smilly, shaking hands with the fans as Nikola didnt seem to care that much, holding his beer. For some reasons, I freeze on place. I was not able to go to them. They pursue their way as they got at one meter of Chast and me when I finally got the courage to stop Nikola. Mathias was ahead so he never noticed Nikola stoped so I missed my opportunity to encounter him once again. So I introduced myself to Nikola cause he seemed to have totally forgotten about having met me one year and half ago. So I told him I was Karro and that it was me who did the interview in AMP magazine. No reactions from him just " ah, okay". So now I got all embrassed and stopped to talk. After a few, he pursued with : "so what is going on". Personally, I didnt really feel talking to someone who really seemed to not care about your work. But he introduced his cousin (the famous Biftek one) to us and this guy was simply a nice one. So he talked to us a bit, we chatted in French like Chast said until Nikola said he has to go for their set.
I always give people a second chance to prove me wrong on my first impression but when I first met Nikola, he had the same cold attitude to me. I didn't want to judge him but it told me that it's probably not due to a bad day this time again..
We listened to the whole set which was very good in my opinion. Mathias and Erik granted us with French words like : "Bonjour, comment ça va, je m'apelle fromage" and few more which I forgot. Maybe something about they love Montreal. Erik had this new found hand sings habit on stage for some reasons which I found really funny. I've never been able to see Larzon from where I was.
At the end of the day, we got once again backstage with some band my friends met earlier. Sitting by their van, I got to see again Paul Chavez. Of course I didnt try anything cause it was too late. So we got out of there with this band which drove us to downtown.They decided to go party at the stripper club. I wasn't really warmed by this idea. I have nothing against strippers. Personnally, I've been living together for a year with a stripper which is one of my best friend since I'm 12 and I have some other friends who worked there so. But after an exhausted day in the sun, I didnt feel to go watch naked chicks. This was just totally surreal.
In factual, It was really hard this day to go up to any of them 'cause last week-end I wrote to Larzon asking if it would be possible to meet them in Montreal 'cause we didnt get the chance to meet up in person when I did the interview. He never answered back. I thought I was not asking much but I guess it was too much for them. I just remember all the stories I heard about fans getting guess list or having a nice meeting with them when they did nothing so far for them. I don't want to compare me to others and I'm not the kind of person to do something cause I expect something in return. But that doesn't mean they had to ignore me. And seeing Nikola reactions in person, that also discouraged me more to go meet the rest of them. I don't want to put all of them in the same basket but they are a band at all. Every of them represent the image of the band when they are in a show.
Now, I probably feel like them when they opened for The Offspring and the guys didn't say "Hi" to them. I can't believe it's the same band that said once: "treat me as you treat yourself". Either they forget it cause it was a long time ago or it's just that they are not conscious about the real meaning behind those words.
I guess they would understand my actual feelings better if they would get back in time and remember the effect they had when they meet their inspirations Bad religion and become acknowledged by them. How is like to be acknowledged by your heros? I'm asking you now. Cause it's probably how I would have felt and how life would have pursue its evolution. But they didn't pass over the torch.
Who would have expected someone starting her day with only wanting to get to talk with her favorite band, would have ended her day with some unknown band bringing her in some stripper clubs. Totally class it was. I think it totally blow my mind. And now if you're asking me what I find about a regular band from Örebro, I wouldn't know what to answer at this point. Cause this day showed me it's definitely a waste of time and energy.

thats really strange karro, sorry it sucked so bad. the couple of times I have gotten to talk to MC they were super nice. nikola is really shy from my experiences, i dont think hes trying to be rude. As for larzon not replying to your e-mail, he probably hasnt even read it yet because they have been really busy. I dunno, i just felt i had to stick up for the guys.
anyway, what was the setlist? curious to see what songs they played.

wow karro...i'm sorry to hear this,..and i understand how you feel/felt. for what i know and what pat said, mc seem nice guys but you know...maybe that day Nikola was tired, or maybe it was too hot, or maybe it was a bit afraid for the gig, i dont know...but yeah, he wasnt that cool to you  i guess they are usewde now to the fans, to meet guys, shake hands etc...so ofcourse, it's sad to say but for them (or Nikola in this case) you are one of the millions persons they meet around the world,and yeah, i bet he didnt remember of you...try to think about all the stuff they do in a year... i guess you're feeling down now about them but it's better to forget thie episode.if i were in your shoes i would have felt like you...  |

man, that sucks ! but i think (greg22 said it already befor) you're one of a million people they met on tour. and it's hard always being happy and friendly! cause all the guys they met want to be treated like their the one and everything for the M*C guys! that's seriously not possible! of course, we fans, are the key to their success! so i think they have to be gratefully to us! but situations like that can happen...!espacially if, for example, nikola has a bad day! they are also only humans like you and i  ! so be seriously, you also have bad days, and then you just think:"life sucks, let me alone"!in this condition being happy and talk to everyone is very hard! i hope you still like the guys as they are!? |

Not just the 29 the 28 too i don't know why Nikola don't care for the fan...
And Larzon in Quebec City is sat in a chair and drink a beer...
Nikola too drink a beer...
But isn't important for me i want see Millencolin and talk whit Millencolin and get a autograph!
Maybe soon more picture of the Vans Quebec a frinds of my brother have a pic!

I was there with Karro and I am very good with picking up on vibes from people. I felt that Nikola did not want to be around us and put up with speaking to us for two minutes. I wanted to leave to not further annoy Nikola but he beat me to it.
Although, Karro and I are on the forum often and are big fans of Millencolin, we will never view them as gods. We didn't even ask for an autograph or a picture with Nikola. We didn't even give the generic "You guys rock! I'm such a big fan!" praises. Even when I was backstage and saw Larzon and co. come in, I didn't want to run up to them and harrass them.
It is a letdown that I did not get to at least say hi to the other members. Now that Pat has said that Nikola was shy, I give him the benefit of the doubt (for now). I think Karro feels a lot more anger because she has done so much for them and she felt that Millencolin didn't give a crap for her efforts.

Poor Karro i thinks it's your favorite band in 1994 and in 2005 you see the band for the 6 times and Nikola don't care for the fan! In Vans Warped Tour 2000 how is Millencolin!? |

I don't thinks Nikola is shy, Nikola i thinks don't care for the people... it's absolutelly not fair what you're doing here! nikola is married and has a child! it has to be hard for him always travelling around and never being at home with his family! think about that |
