But yes, about emo, I honestly don't see the hype. It's not even a genre created from the heart. There is no struggle. They talk about issues that everyone goes through--except added with "waaahhh wahhh pity me. Let me take this pink razor to my wrist and strategically penetrate my vein for the flood of redness to flow out and bring me into more depths of sullen bleakness." (This was meant to be written out as bad poetry) I just don't find it cool they they glorify suicide-and this is coming from someone who has suffered from depression for years. It's not cool that this genre is focusing too much on self hate and self destruction--especially at a time when other issues are far more important and need to be tended to (for example, let's take that situation with good ol' Georgie and his appetite for war)

It's a genre that the big record labels came up with and decided to feed to listeners. There are only 5 bands I can tolerate:

Jimmy Eat World
Satellite Of June
The Used
Taking Back Sunday
Moneen

Anything else, I am very weary about. (General rant coming up)

I can't fucking stand emo kids. Not all of them, of course. But most of them are immature and happen to also be drama queens (yes, even the boys). Even the ones in their 20's still live in this bullshit teen angst world. It's fine if you are 18 and under and being pissed off at the world but it's not fine when you are an adult.

[Sorry. I was reminded of this completely psycho emo whore who once pushed my buttons by not only being so immature but by being completely fucked in the head by preaching to me about morals. Yet she also had sex with a guy who had a girlfriend and wanted to bang him on his girlfriend's bed. She knew he had a girlfriend. I really had to get this frustration out. hahaha]

The only 2 "emo bands" I can't stand are first: the Used and second, Finch.
