So last night I had the honour of seeing Millencolin and they were amazing! It's my first time so I didn't quite know what to expect, we travelled a total of 8 hours to see them, because neither of us (me & friend scott) like GC and weren't really to keen on The Explosion
So here is what happened
We left home at like 3 so we thought we'd get there be 6.30 which eventually we did and the queue was as expected, HUGE! I swear it was like a posers market, loads of fucking MADE merchandise and stuff like that, and lots of people wearing hot rocks and stuff that you'd expect to see at a 'goth' concert
Anyway, see after waiting an hour the doors started going in and I got moiself a Millencolin tee shirt, yay!
The gig!
The Explosion were okay, tbh I just wanted them to get off so Millencolin would come on!
Millencolin were brilliant, absoloutely fantastic, i swear only about 12 people knew who they were but I met some cool guys in the middle who were just there for MC like I was and that was cool, the annoying thing was it was obviously a first gig for alot of the little people, and there was alot of them so they weren't jumping and in the 15min break before MC they were like pushing and shit so I was so out of breath, but I still screamed the lyrics as loud as I could, the new songs sound brilliant live! I had to get out for some water when P&P was being played, and then attempted to get back in, really great gig though!
Now, after they had played me and friend frantically tried to meet the guys, we hung around everywhere (and were asked to leave the car park by the nasty roadie ) And then this really cool roadie saw our MC teeshirts and gave us some picks! And we were speaking to him and saying how we got there and stuff and you never guess what he did?!
He got Larzon to come out and speak to us, he gave us a signed drum stick each and also signed my shirt, it was really cool just to tell him how much i love their music and what a great night, and he seemed genuinely greatful for it, but the roadie was also uber-nice guy he was like "No, thank you, you're the reason we are here" I shook Larzons hand, and I did feel like abit of an 11 year old schoolgirl instead of a 17 year old boy, but anyway!
It was a brilliant brilliant night I had such fun, and cant wait to see them when they come back on the Kingwood World Tour.
btw Nicola looks cool bald lolol ;D
Oh and setlist for those interested ( no order )
No Cigar
Cash or Clash (Highlight of the gig, so brilliant)
Ray
Farewell My Hell
Man or Mouse
Black Eye
Bullion
Kemp
Penguins & Polarbears
I feel like I'm missing one or two but I cant remember lol, It was really great though, you should definately go see em on KWT I know i certainly am going to all the UK dates when they come back after summer (so Larzon said )
